Lee Lichtenstein is a Zürich-based artist born in Israel. She has lived and worked in Tel Aviv, Milan, London and Switzerland, and studied at Wizo in Tel Aviv, the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan and Central Saint Martins in London.

Working across painting, sculpture and installation, she explores the human body through transparency, layering and fragmentation. The body is the central subject of her work. Her figures are not portraits, but partial bodies, gestures and traces that move between presence and absence.

Working with canvas, acrylic glass and transparent fabrics, she creates images and spaces that change with the viewer’s position. Her work explores how we see one another, what remains hidden, and how our presence shapes what others can see. At a time when more of our contact passes through screens and machines, she returns to the physical body as a place of encounter, asking what we might lose, what remains between us, and what it means to be physically present with one another.
